Thanks guys, this is a difficult time for our entire family... your expressions are really very appreciated.
This lady was someone really special to us all. According by our "grandchild convention which happened to stick", we all called her "big mom" instead of "granny" as most do. She had a great love for her family, extended family and was always there to share our joys and give real support in times of need. She always encouraged extended family members to get to know each other.
She was a most generous person who truly lived through good times and bad both hers and the people she knew. She interacted with anyone regardless of who they were. She had a healthy respect for and participated in any religious activity, a regular at the mandir, the church and occasionally at the mosque, always making new friends along the way. She had to ability to make anyone smile and was a great organiser, capable of getting people into action.
Most people knew her as "Auntie Kay" or "Mrs Kay". Many do not know that in her younger days she rode (as the rider not the passenger) motorcycles and drove trucks. Yes, she did have her heavy T license.
In many respects Kamla Sooknarine was the matriarch, the "big mom" of our family and will be sorely missed by all. _________________ Drags, Circuit, Solodex, Rally, Karting, the Shows, the Girls, the Car you drive...
