The drivers attending this weeks Formula One test in Bahrain will face an altogether different challenge on Thursday, after being invited to try out one of the worlds most advanced flight simulators. The racing stars will swap tarmac for the skies at the special event held by the organisers of Aprils Bahrain Grand Prix in conjunction with race sponsors Gulf Air.
The recently-launched flight simulator cost US$10 million and allows participants to take the controls of either an Airbus or Boeing aeroplane. It is currently being used by Gulf Air to train pilots in the region.
The exclusive event will take place after the first days running in Bahrain on Thursday February 22. A further three-day test is scheduled to take place at the circuit from February 27 to March 1, followed by the Grand Prix on April 13-15.

Interesting.
From piloting a vehicle with wings to keep you on the ground to the total opposite of piloting a vehicle with wings to keep you off the ground. |
