Hey fellas, I'm liming here by Green's "Abstract Grafix Shop" in Grenada. Yesterday we were up at the tracks for shakedown and bracket testing. Quite a few exciting runs yesterday. They started with the traditional Racecar Parade going up lane one and down to lane two which meant that I had to cut the Carib Girls Shoot short. Mr. Stoute managed to get some sponsorship from Carib, apparently the 3rd gen is the official Carib car for the weekend.
Here are some of the times from yesterday evening into last night:
Flambeaux - fastest of the day at 9.9, 10.4
Green Hornet - 10.6, 10.8, 10.9
Allan's Mustang - 10.9, 11.7 (ignition probs)
Tam - 11.7
Banzai VR4 (driven by Anil) - 13.6

Well the big talk on the track is "Call mih anytime you want..." of course meaning on the grid for a race!!!
I am still having tire slippage even though the preparation today has been better than previously done. Once some more rubber is put down, I hope to see better times from my little Mustang V8 (that's close to a 5.0L displacement).
The organizers (Don Purcell) have done a tremendous job for this weekend. Don Purcell, if you remember was the racer who flipped in the rotary-powered starlet known DATRIX. He is the man behind the "Days of Thunder" Drag Racing Weekend in Pearl's Raceway here in Grenada.

Apparently he forgot to rent himself a helmet...
He did drive Medusa, in testing... they ran it on 12 lbs boost for the competition. I think once tuning is finished, we will see Banzai in full race driver trim.
In the end they secured an easy 2nd place in the 14s, the car ran very well on Sunday, despite being on "1.5" turbo power (one turbo smoking).

The national record by a Grenadian in Grenada has been BROKEN!!! TWICE!!!
Wayne Green, driver of the Green Hornet V8 powered 2nd Gen Rx7 bettered his previous best of 10.6 by 0.3 sec and then went on to post a final fastest Grenadian time of 10.1!!! Once the launch pad gets more usage, rubber and trackbite, we can look forward to 9s from the Green Hornet.

Mad Cow put down some spectacular burnouts, the last one resulting in a slight flame roast but the car was not hurt badly and managed to make a few grudge runs afterwards.
The real shockers were from the SR20 camp... Turbo Taxi was dipping into 12s while the Peak Performance-tuned cars from Chris and Desi delivered!!!! Prentice drove the 1st Gen SR20 powered Rx7 to a blistering 10.9 while Desi ran his best time of 10.8 in a test pass!!!

Grenada's Ronald Ventour in his Mazda 323 front wheel drive showed his skill cutting regular 0.5+ reaction times and taking the 13s class with Mad Cow having some lucky runs before the roast beef burnout as his car was not working well.
