what engine i can use in de hilux (4y) that would fit the 4y gearbox? i still want the 4wd workin. any one ever put a v8 in a hilux

Hey is the 4Y engine a gas engine or a diesel?
I know that the 3L diesel with the turbo kit is a good engine replacement.I dont know about the conversion and it fitting on the gearbox.
BTW there is a hilux with either a chevy V6 or V8.You could see the pic in the TTorc gallery.

the 4y is a gas engine, if i go diesel i have to buy engine gearbox and tranfercase and that is plenty money for a toyota diesel
any one have a contact for that person with that v6 or v8 in the hilux

when we drag raced the toy low lux pickup it had a 2y engine to which we bolted a 5speed box from a cressida. the cressida comes with a 20r engine and the coaster maxi has a 22r each of which should bolt up to the 4wd box in the hi lux without any mods. compare the engine plate before you buy.
