Well diesel produces enormous amounts of torque meaning not having to downshift as many times as a gas powered engine during curcuit racing due to enormous amounts of torque that can pull them out of corners faster than gas engines. A Good example would be Audi's new diesel powered Le Mans car that is still dominating as it predecessors did.

the problem with Diesel in Trinidad is Deisel tuning is not that easy for performance....the Audi tuners called "Carlsen" are the world leaders in Diesel tuning...they have like 450hp diesel audi's....imagine how much more black smoke on the streets in trinidad with them diesel tuned rides.

Plex, when teams like Peugot enter Le Mans, they in it for the R&D and the brand building...u never see LeMans cars carryover into street versions.......u have prototypes which are the R&D cars, and then u have the GT2, 3 etc which are street cars modded to last the race.....you will not see a Street version of a Le Mans LMP car
Lion Tamer, the problem with diesel in trinidad is the diesel in trinidad........

In my opinion i think they could sell to the public. They would just have to make it special order and just as anything special ordered the customer would just have to wait on it. Peugeot would just modify the car a little bit to suite whatever country the car would be going to e.g the country's saftey requirements etc. I mean if the customer paying their money why the heck not give it to them?! Of course peugeot would not make profits off these because for one they not gonna make them on production lines and produce them by the thousands their would only by a handful which would make it very authentic. Also remember rally cars not only built for off road but they can run on tarmac. In addition peugeot can benifit cuz this would provide publicity for them especially when you pull up to a traffic light with one and people say wtf is that?!...lol anyways this just my opinion anyone can beg to differ...

interesting points & comments.....but I have to agree with MG MAN our first problem is the Diesel in Trinidad just like the Gas it is not good......our market is irelevant as our population is just about 1.5 million of which not half of that can afford these types of rides you all are talking about...so for dealerships why bother if the numbers dont add up then there is no real profit in that market...so they just stick with the economy versions.....you think i building over a 400+ pug & relying on the dealer for support...them only selling me wrong parts on 4 occasions....so what would happen if i had one of these machines...i hope when i do my next dyno pull i could drive straight into N&M showroom & leave tyremarks........
