from my understanding, weight / pads / rotors and tyres all contribute to stopping the car.

the car did come with 18" rims that would be a little heavier than stockers ...

^ sold the sti about 3 years ago....new owner put an FMIC kit etc which for me may not have helped to balance the car given that the layout of the STi focused on balance....

pros and cons to both

disagree that the sti's interior is inferior - the seating on the 02 bug eyes are some of the best imho and are all height adj ...

any thoughts on the CBRD BBK turbos? - seem to have a nice flat torque curve for some applications - less emphasis on peak numbers...

hmmm - very interesting point you've raised.

The stock ECU's in both cars are pretty decent and can net the user ~300awhp for the purpose of this discussion...
